Quentin was raised at the domaine, but chose to spread his wings and train in the northern Rhone, and with other growers in the region. He is also a micro-biologist with a fascination for yeasts (he also brews his own beer) and who subscribes to a traditional method of production, favouring whole-bunch ferments, natural yeasts and low sulphur usage.
The Beaujolais-Village ‘Les Grand Terres’is fermented and raised in concrete tank, the Morgon raised in 400 litre wooden barrels for one year.
Allobrogica is Pinot Noir produced along ancient lines is a light as a feather and delicate as gossamer, and comes from the Comtes Rhodaniennes, the region just north of Lyon. This is also whole-bunch fermentation, with a cuvaison of just 7 days, and kept in old oak for 8 months. We will be introducing the 2019 vintage Beaujolais in the next shipment.
There is no doubt of the class here, the wines are seamless and reflect the terroir beautifully, never feeling forced or over worked. Light, classic and full of charm, and so very drinkable.
