Francois Delhon is the youngest member and now in charge of third generation winery Domaine Bassac. The vineyards are worked organically and Francois is meticulous in his care of the soil and plants ensuring that when the fruit arrives at the winery it is in perfect condition and never requires any ‘dressing’. This is obvious as despite the simple pricing, these are intricate and interesting wines made with obvious passion and care. The Margalh wines are named after the wild grass that can be found among the vines and a sign that no herbicides are used.
The Margalh white is a blend of Clairette, Grenache Blanc and Muscat planted by Francois Grand Father, and the age of vines and passion for the variety make this one of the most attractive examples of these grapes at this level.
