AbstractBlossom, herbal, saline
Pantelleria's Zibibbo made dry, from low-trained vines on volcanic terraces.

Winemaker
Marco De Bartoli was a racing driver before returning to his family's winegrowing roots in Marsala. He challenged the industrial wines that had damaged the region's reputation, working instead with Sicily's own grapes and traditional methods.

His family continues the work in Marsala and on Pantelleria. On the island, Zibibbo grows low to the ground on volcanic terraces. Making it dry, rather than sweet, became an important part of De Bartoli's work.

Wine
Pietra Nera takes Zibibbo away from its familiar sweet expression and gives it a dry form.

Citrus blossom and Mediterranean herbs, with aromatic fruit held by a dry, firm finish. It is fermented in stainless steel.

There is perfume here, but also substance: try it with grilled fish, fennel or something gently spiced.

Origin
Pantelleria sits between Sicily and Tunisia. Low, sheltered vines grow on volcanic terraces, shaped by wind, sun and scarce water.
