AbstractApple, citrus, juicy
A little residual sweetness makes this Riesling softer than Thörle's dry bottling, balanced by lively acidity.

Winemaker
Christoph and Johannes Thörle took over their parents' Saulheim estate in 2006. They reduced yields, increased vineyard handwork and made hand-picking central to the harvest.

Their vineyards sit on limestone, marl and loess in Rheinhessen. Riesling and the Burgundian varieties dominate the range, from estate wines to individual vineyard bottlings. Organic farming continues the changes the brothers began when they returned home.

Wine
Feinherb is the gently off-dry counterpart to the dry Riesling. Grapes from parcels around Saulheim have brief skin contact before pressing, then ferment and age in stainless steel.

A little residual sweetness rounds the apple and citrus fruit. Lively acidity keeps it juicy, particularly useful with chilli and aromatic food.

Origin
The vineyards lie around Saulheim in Rheinhessen, on a mix of limestone, marl and loess. A sheltered growing season gives Riesling ripe fruit while retaining acidity.
