Wine
Freiheit Red brings several varieties together, including Merlot, Blaufränkisch, Portugieser, Sankt Laurent and Pinot Noir. Cherry and cassis, with earthy and herbal touches beneath the fruit. The palate is juicy, fresh and easy to return to. A light chill suits it, especially with pizza, charcuterie or a tray of roast vegetables.

Origin
Rheinhessen lies within the relatively sheltered Rhine landscape. Limestone, marl and loess are widespread across the region, giving growers varied soils and exposures to work with. Summer warmth supports red varieties, with the long season helping fruit and structure develop together.
