AbstractBerry, saline, taut
A Tuscan rosé fermented and matured in clay, giving texture without wood flavour.

Winemaker
Fattoria di Sammontana is a family farm at Montelupo Fiorentino, west of Florence. Daniele and Dario continue its fourth generation of farming, with vines growing alongside olive groves and other crops.

The vineyards are farmed organically, using biodynamic practices. Legumes and grasses are sown between the rows after harvest to cover and feed the soil. Alongside traditional Tuscan reds, the family makes white blends and rosé fermented in clay.

Wine
Montepulciano and Merlot are pressed promptly, then the juice ferments and matures in clay. The vessel builds texture without new-wood flavour.

Deep pink fruit with a fine, saline tension. The wine can be reserved at first, then opens into a fuller and more detailed rosé.

Origin
The fruit comes from the family's estate at Montelupo Fiorentino in Tuscany. Limestone-rich ground and a hillside setting form its agricultural foundation.
