AbstractCitrus, creamy, stony
Separately raised lots of Albariño combine lees texture with a softer edge in this cool Galician white.

Winemaker
José Crusat continues the winery begun by his father Francisco at A Pobra do Caramiñal, on the northern side of the Ría de Arousa. The family works small parcels of Albariño around the Barbanza peninsula.

The farming is organic but uncertified. Traditional pergolas lift the grapes away from damp ground and keep air moving around the bunches. José makes several Komokabras bottlings from the same variety, exploring skin contact, oak and lees ageing.

Wine
The green Komokabras is Albariño from higher parcels in the valley. Separate lots are raised differently: lees ageing builds texture, while malolactic fermentation softens part of the wine. They are blended before bottling.

Whitecurrant and citrus sit over a rounded middle and a stony finish. It is a quietly textured expression of Albariño.

Origin
The vineyards are spread around A Pobra do Caramiñal, on Galicia's Barbanza peninsula. Sandy granite and a cool, damp Atlantic climate give the fruit its fresh outline.
