AbstractCitrus, apple, fine
Riesling meets Pinot Noir pressed as a white: an unusual blend from a cool Languedoc valley.

Winemaker
Catherine Roque was an architect before establishing Clovallon in the upper Orb valley. She planted Pinot Noir and Riesling in a site unusually cool for the Languedoc.

Her daughter Alix, who grew up among the vines and later worked abroad, continues the project. Organic and biodynamic farming includes natural vegetation between the rows. Altitude, the limestone escarpment and cooler valley air make these less usual southern varieties possible.

Wine
En Noir et Blanc combines Riesling with Pinot Noir made as a white. The Pinot is pressed and fermented without its skins, contributing body without turning the wine red.

Native fermentation and minimal sulphur preserve citrus and orchard fruit, with a fine texture and fresh finish. The cool Orb valley allows both grapes to thrive this far south.

Origin
The vines grow near Bédarieux in the Orb valley. Altitude and a limestone escarpment soften the warmth of the surrounding Languedoc.
