AbstractPeach, herbal, rounded
Southern Rhône white grapes, aged on their lees in steel for body without oak flavour.
Winemaker
Julien Mus studied viticulture and winemaking in Beaune before returning to his family vineyards near Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The grapes had gone to the local cooperative; in 2005 he founded Domaine de la Graveirette and began making his own wines.
He farms biodynamically around Bédarrides and Courthézon. The parcels include sandy ground, alluvial soils and stony terraces. Alongside Rhône appellation wines, his Vin de France bottlings make room for varieties such as Merlot, Marselan and Viognier.
Wine
Ju de Vie Blanc brings Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne and Bourboulenc together. Fermentation in steel and time on the lees build texture without oak shaping the flavour.
Yellow fruit, a little herbal lift and a rounded, gently saline palate. The wine has the generosity of a southern white, with a finish that stays fresh.
Origin
Bédarrides sits in the warm southern Rhône, southeast of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Alluvial and sandy vineyard ground occurs around the cellar.
