Old-vine Vermentino, hand picked and aged on its lees in steel for texture without oak.

Winemaker
Mas de Costeplane lies between the Mediterranean and the Cévennes, on a clay-limestone plateau at Cannes-et-Clairan. Organic certification dates to 1989, followed by Demeter biodynamic certification in 2011.

Loïc Manchec works with the owners' daughter Françoise. The vineyards include old Carignan planted in 1958, alongside Merlot, Syrah, Grenache and white varieties. Natural yeasts are used in the cellar, with both blends and single-variety wines in the range.

Wine
Old-vine Vermentino from clay-limestone ground is picked by hand, fermented in stainless steel and kept on its lees for around eight months.

It has more texture and concentration than the Lou Canoun white blend. Lime, pear and flowers finish with the gentle bitterness typical of Vermentino.

Origin
Vermentino grows on Costeplane's clay-limestone plateau in the Gard. The Cévennes send cooler air across the vineyards at night, even in summer.
