AbstractBerry, herbal, savoury
A mature Carignan-led red from high Roussillon vineyards, with bottle age adding depth beyond the fruit.

Winemaker
Le Soula began in 2001 with Gérard Gauby and wine merchants Roy Richards and Mark Walford. They saw the potential of neglected vineyards high in the Fenouillèdes and brought them back into cultivation.

The scattered parcels rise above the Roussillon plain, on granite and schist. Biodynamic farming and long ageing shape the wines. The vintage bottlings develop slowly before release; Trigone combines different harvests, with a lot number identifying each blend.

Wine
Carignan leads the 2015 blend, supported by Syrah and Grenache.

The 2015 has moved beyond simple primary fruit towards dried berries, herbs and a more savoury, layered palate. There is structure, with freshness running through the centre.

Origin
The fruit comes from villages in the Fenouillèdes, on decomposed granite and some dark schist. Vineyards rise above the warmer Roussillon plain.
