AbstractBerry, floral, delicate
A rare Galician red variety, gently infused as whole bunches and raised in steel.

Winemaker
José Antonio Canda Gil, known as Pepe, founded Terras do Sur in 2016 after working as a welder in Spain and Scotland. His family had grown grapes around Crecente for generations; he began bottling their wines under his own name.

His small parcels lie above the Miño in inland Rías Baixas. He farms organically, making Albariño and the less familiar red grape Brancellao with native yeasts.

Wine
Brancellao is a less familiar Galician red grape. Pepe works with whole bunches, allowing a gentle twenty-day infusion before a year in stainless steel.

That light extraction preserves red fruit and flowers without heavy tannins. The wine is delicate and savoury, with a fresh finish.

Origin
The Brancellao grows around Crecente in inland Rías Baixas, above the Miño near Portugal. Alluvial slate over granite distinguishes these parcels from the sandy granite used for Pepe’s Albariño.
