AbstractCherry, pepper, taut
Burgenland's warmth meets Blaufränkisch's natural acidity, giving ripe fruit and a firm, savoury finish.

Winemaker
Judith Beck made her first vintage in 2001 and took over her family's estate in Gols in 2004. Before returning home, she studied at Klosterneuburg and worked in France, Italy and Chile.

She farms biodynamically in Burgenland's warm Pannonian climate. Local red grapes, including Blaufränkisch, sit alongside white varieties such as Pinot Blanc. Her wines retain their acidity and fragrance without losing the generous fruit of this part of Austria.

Wine
Blaufränkisch provides the darker fruit and natural tension of this red.

Dark cherry, a peppery edge and lively acidity. The tannin gives enough grip for food without making the wine demanding.

Origin
Gols lies on the eastern side of Lake Neusiedl in Burgenland. Sand and limestone are part of the ground beneath Judith Beck's Blaufränkisch.
