AbstractBerry, herbal, supple
A lighter Languedoc red from the cool valley beneath the Larzac, where limestone scree surrounds the vines.
Winemaker
Delphine Rousseau and Julien Zernott chose the valley beneath the Larzac for their own estate. Julien had worked at Domaine Pellé in the Loire; their search led them to Poujols, north of Lodève.
They farm organically and biodynamically among limestone scree and dry-stone walls. The narrow valley and higher vineyards are cooler than much of the Languedoc. Their wines keep the south's ripe fruit and herbs, with noticeably fresh acidity.
Wine
Petit Pas brings Syrah, Grenache and Carignan together from the cool valley beneath the Larzac. Limestone scree and higher vineyard positions distinguish it from the warmer Languedoc plain.
Red berries and herbs come with fine tannin and fresh acidity. A supple southern red, with flavour rather than weight.
Origin
The vineyards sit beneath the Larzac plateau, among limestone scree and dry-stone walls. Height and valley air offer a cooler perspective on the Languedoc.
