AbstractRedcurrant, leafy, crisp
A Cabernet rosé from Gascony, with a leaner, leafier character than Grenache-led Provençal blends.
Winemaker
Zoé and Miguel Maestrojuan worked as farm labourers before buying their own property in the Gers in the 1960s. Vines grew alongside livestock and other crops.
Michel Maestrojuan continues that mixed-farm approach. Organic conversion began in 2017, followed by biodynamic practice in 2021. Seeds from the farm's cereal crops are used as vineyard cover crops, keeping the work in the fields connected to the vines.
Wine
Entras Rosé uses Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon for a different outline from the Grenache-led rosés of Provence.
Redcurrant and a little fresh leaf, with crisp acidity and a dry finish. The fruit stays delicate enough for an aperitif but has enough definition for food.
Origin
The estate is based at Ayguetinte in the Gers. Clay-limestone soils and rolling terrain sit within a climate influenced by the Atlantic.
