AbstractBlackberry, herbal, supple
Five varieties share this Gascon blend, combining Merlot's fruit with the structure of Cabernet, Malbec and Tannat.
Winemaker
Zoé and Miguel Maestrojuan worked as farm labourers before buying their own property in the Gers in the 1960s. Vines grew alongside livestock and other crops.
Michel Maestrojuan continues that mixed-farm approach. Organic conversion began in 2017, followed by biodynamic practice in 2021. Seeds from the farm's cereal crops are used as vineyard cover crops, keeping the work in the fields connected to the vines.
Wine
The red Entras blends Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Tannat, drawing fruit, acidity and tannin from the different varieties.
Dark berries and a herbal edge, with supple tannin and a fresh finish.
Origin
Ayguetinte lies in the Gers, within the Côtes de Gascogne. Clay-limestone ground and Atlantic weather shape the surrounding vineyards.
